چکیده
In the pursuit of sustainable sources for food, energy, and health products, microalgae have gained attention. present study, lagoonal system Nestos River delta was selected as a sampling point in order to search opportunistic robust species. Two new strains Tetraselmis are described with regards their taxonomic features (as observed using light transmission electron microscopy molecular phylogenetics) biochemical properties (total lipid, total protein, carbohydrate content, photosynthetic pigments, antioxidant capacity). The studied were identified representatives verrucosa f. rubens. Furthermore, both exhibited an interesting profile coupled high growth rates promising activity, without use enhancement induction culture methods, warranting further investigation showing potential biotechnological use.

Evolutionary and Biotechnological Implications of Robust Hydrogenase Activity in Halophilic Strains of Tetraselmis
Although significant advances in H2 photoproduction have recently been realized in fresh water algae (e.g. Chlamydomonas reinhardtii), relatively few studies have focused on H2 production and hydrogenase adaptations in marine or halophilic algae. Salt water organisms likely offer several advantages for biotechnological H2 production due to the global abundance of salt water, decreased H2 and O2...
متن کاملMetagenomes of Mediterranean Coastal Lagoons
Coastal lagoons, both hypersaline and freshwater, are common, but still understudied ecosystems. We describe, for the first time, using high throughput sequencing, the extant microbiota of two large and representative Mediterranean coastal lagoons, the hypersaline Mar Menor, and the freshwater Albufera de Valencia, both located on the south eastern coast of Spain. We show there are considerable...
متن کاملNovel Bacterial Strains Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp. Isolated from Petroleum Oil Contaminated Soils for Degradation of Flourene and Phenanthrene
Flourene and phenanthrene are organic compounds with high hydrophobicity and toxicity. Being recalcitrant in nature they are accumulating in the environment at an alarming concentration, posing serious threat to living beings. Thus in the present study, microorganisms were screened for their ability to degrade these contaminants at high concentrations in least period of time. Two out of fifteen...
متن کاملUlvibacter antarcticus sp. nov., isolated from Antarctic coastal seawater.
A seawater bacterium, designated IMCC3101(T), was isolated from Antarctic coastal seawater. The strain was Gram-negative, chemoheterotrophic, obligately aerobic, pigmented dark yellow (flexirubin-type pigments) and devoid of gliding and flagellar motility. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence comparisons, the most closely related species was Ulvibacter litoralis (96.6 %). Phylogenetic trees g...
متن کاملShewanella xiamenensis sp. nov., isolated from coastal sea sediment.
A Gram-negative, motile, rod-shaped bacterium, strain S4(T), was isolated from coastal sediment collected off Xiamen, China. The physiological and biochemical features of strain S4(T), determined using the API 20NE, API ZYM and Biolog GN2 systems, were similar to those of members of the genus Shewanella. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA and gyrB gene sequences placed strain S4(T) in the ...
